"Quality Merchandise at a Reasonable Price"

By way of introduction, I’m Steve Conley, a former farm kid who went off to school and then worked many years as a licensed professional engineer.  These days, however, I am devoting more time to SteveConleySales.com (my home-based family business located in northeastern Minnesota, a short distance off Interstate 35 near Duluth). In this capacity I have provided buyers nationwide with quality used tractors, machinery, heavy equipment and parts since 1981.

In a sense, SteveConleySales.com has become a community website, in that it may feature not only my items for sale but also listings for neighboring farmers and acquaintances who are looking to disperse some of their excess inventory.

I’m particularly interested in antiques or vintage tractors and farm machinery, which typically come from area farms and old homesteads—frequently found tucked away in the corner of an old barn or machinery shed, or maybe sitting neglected and long-forgotten out in the cow pasture or along a fence line - sometimes even in a scrap pile. For the most part I don’t try to recondition or restore the old stuff, but rather leave that to potential buyers who perhaps have more time and money than I do for that aspect of it.

I usually have a little bit of everything on hand or know where I can get it. My horse drawn equipment generally includes a variety of plows, wagons, planters, cultivators, and so on…the type of stuff that makes good yard art nowadays.

My tractor and crawler/dozer inventory typically includes most of the familiar manufacturers including Allis Chalmers, Case, Caterpillar, Cockshutt, Cletrac, John Deere, Ford, Fordson, International, Farmall, McCormick-Deering, Massey Harris, Ferguson, Minneapolis Moline, and Oliver.

The old two-cylinder John Deeres with their distinctive "putt…putt…putt" sound are my favorites, whether they are the old unstyled A’s, B’s, D’s GP’s, and  L’s, or the later styled letter and number series models. I also collect the old single-cylinder gas hit & miss engines.

The lesser-known orphan tractors also interest me, and I buy them when I can find them.  For instance, I recently acquired a very rare Indiana Silo & Tractor Co. tractor from the 1919 era, and that particular gem is one of only twelve such tractors known to exist!

I also deal in some of the later model farm and agricultural tractors, as well as the popular compact utility tractors and attachments (loaders, mower decks, back blades, brush hogs, backhoes, etc.).

Construction equipment, both wheel and crawler types, generally includes dozers, backhoes, excavators, mini excavators, loaders and skid steers.

Trucks and trailers on my lot may consist of just about anything from vintage collector trucks to the late-model pickups and equipment trailers.

I also carry a large inventory of salvaged or take-off parts for the older tractors and crawlers - both gas and diesel.

If you are looking for something in particular, let me know. I just may have what you are looking for. And if I don’t have it, I’m usually up to the challenge of finding it if it’s out there somewhere in my neck of the woods!
